Our reduced holiday schedule is already published, and be sure to catch our upcoming events! For 2025, we will kick off the year with a very special guest: Jules Febre (Jivamukti, NYC/Berlin)  offering a Jivamukti XL class on Spine Mobility, as well as the Beginner Series. This letter comes a little later than expected. Last Wednesday evening ,while I was working in the yoga studio, I had an unfortunate accident : I slid and broke my left hand πŸ€•. If you know the pain of broken bones, you know what I'm talking about: an incredibly intense, humbling reminder of our intrinsic human fragility.  An experience characterised by sobbing beyond control and desperately needing the others. I don't know about you, but personally, I am not good at acknowledging those aspects of my human experience. I often go through long periods of time believing I am in control, I don't really need anyone and–even more poignantly– that I am not fragile. 
 

And then one day, the teacher comes and unveils reality. When one has studied the wisdom of Yoga, or considers oneself a yogi, one learns to r acknowledge the teacher in her different disguises. One of them can be an accident. An accident is a full stop, a forceful pause –often due way earlier–, an incredible small piece of time that shifts your future drastically. All your priorities are turned upside down, all your plans thrown out the window. Little things like wiggling your fingers or doing a down dog become special and unavailable. An accident shifts our perspective, it shows us how precious are our most mundane acts, how important are those close to us and how much we need them. Can you relate? I wanna hear from you <3 

 

These insights brought me inspiration for the coming weeks, I hope those insights touch you too:  to wrap your year with the right rituals, to devote quality time to your loved ones, to make space for pausing and dreaming with freedom your next year. I will keep sharing with you as my hand heals, I am also looking forward with excitement to read your words.

This, is also the perfect time for you to send us feedback. How has the studio impacted your life so far this year? Where can we make things better? We want to include your needs and wishes on our dream for next B.Yoga year. Ultimately, breathing and moving together is a tender but effective ritual for the remembrance of dreaming and community weaving. We are looking forward to create 2025 with you.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Jules Febre was born and raised in a section of New York City known as the Lower East Side. At the age of 13, Jules spent three months in India; two of which were spent in Mysore studying Ashtanga Yoga with Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. During that time he was invited to share satsang with Swami Nirmalananda and Shyam Das, two radical yogis that have each contributed greatly to the progression of yoga in the West. At the age of 16 Jules began working at the Jivamukti Yoga School helping to clean, and is now considered one of the leading teachers of the Jivamukti Yoga method, teaching the method world wide as well as facilitating at the very highly regarded teacher training programs.

The Beginners Series is a great place to begin your yoga practice or revisit fundamentals of posture, breath and focus.
 
During this special class series you will learn details of alignment, how to connect your breath with postures and movement, and general guidelines to keep you safe and confident while you practice.
 
These workshop-style classes will move at a slower pace with plenty of opportunities for questions and personal attention. 
 
Join one or more workshops. They each focus on different themes as well as build upon each other.
