In our Program: Prenatal Yoga

 

The ability to create life is a sacred feminine gift. Our Prenatal classes are specially designed to deepen your connection to your life-giving power centre and creative energy. Learn to create space for the joys in pregnancy, and gather tools for navigating your more difficult moments when they arise. You will also strengthen your body and prepare yourself and baby for a more relaxed, blissful birth.

Benefits of practicing Prenatal Yoga are:

* Prepare for birth by strengthening your body, mind & soul
* Relaxing effect on the nervous system through the practice of breath control

* Reduce the chance of "Baby-Blues" and Postpartum Depression

If you have never practiced Yoga, this is a great time to start, as you are more connected with yourself and Nature. However, it is recommended that you start your practice in your second trimester. We also highly endorse continuing your practice after birth and including yoga in your family life as a tool to increase quality time with your child.

If you are already practicing Yoga, it is important for you to create some special time and space for you and baby. You can continue your normal yoga practice and combine it with Prenatal classes or, in later pregnancy, gradually switch completely to Prenatal Yoga.

Your body is going through a beautiful change, so always consult your medical practitioner and yoga teacher(s) if you want to continue your normal yoga practice. They will guide you to know your options for optimising the health of you and baby.
